WildFires Spread Amongst the U.S.

Wildfires have spread across Oregon, Washington and California; spreading over millions of acres of land and have forced many civilians to evacuate. The air quality is the worst in the world. The current weather is only making the fires worse, the dry air and strong winds are helping the fires spread. Climate change is playing a big role in wildfires and other natural weather disasters. Climate makes the air more dry and hot, which only enlarges wildfires. Many politicians are saying that it is time for change and that President Trump isn’t doing anything about the big matter at hand. Many houses have burned down and dozens of people have gone missing in the fires. Firefighters across the Nation are risking their lives to stop the fires. Some cities are getting better rather than worse. The Wild Fires are back this year and are worse than ever, and America needs to have extreme measures to stop them.

NFL Season Starts Up Again

After a long break, the awaited NFL season starts back up again. The NFL has decided not to create a bubble with all the players, like the NBA and NHL did. It is unclear why they chose to do this. A lot of people were wondering how they were gonna be safe considering COVID-19. This is how the NFL is doing it. They have been consistently testing since August, and will keep on testing daily, except for game days. If and when a player tests positive, they will be immediately isolated from their team, and everyone who has contacted them will also be isolated. A big controversy has been over whether to permit fans. It has been decided that each team can decide on their own what to do. For instance if their state is having a spike then maybe they won’t have any fans, but if their state has very low COVID-19 rates then maybe they can have fans. Some people feel like this is unfair because fans might encourage players to be better. The first game of the season started on 9/10/20, with the Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs. This season could be awesome, but that's if everything turns out fine.

  • NFL season starts up again

  • They are testing regularly

  • Teams can choose whether to have fans

  • First game is Thursday the 10th

9/11 Memorial Amidst a Pandemic

On Friday, Americans commemorated 9/11. Many people including victims' relatives gathered Friday morning at the World Trade Center in New York while taking COVID-19 precautions. Some communities around the country canceled 9/11 memorials while others went ahead and made slight changes because of coronavirus. Donald Trump and Joe Biden paid their respects by going to the flight 93 memorial. Biden also went to the ceremony in New York. The memorial of the deadliest terrorist attack in the US was complicated because of the pandemic but it’s a big deal for the American people.
